The Rituals Essentials
Rituals is a brand that grew up with me. At home there was always a shower foam in the bathroom, a hand cream by the sink, a candle in the living room, a body mist in somebody's bag. The reason is simple: it is the perfect brand to give. The early years were slow — it took four years to open a second store — but gifting became the engine. Sets in every size, every essential included, wrapped and ready to hand over. People walk into Rituals not because they need something, but because they're looking for something to give.
What makes the experience even easier is the colour coding. People remember the colour of their favourite scent long before they remember the name of the collection. It looks like a branding failure and it works like a shortcut: you walk in already knowing you're after the red set, or the pink and white one.

The Ritual of Sakura
The new beginning
The story behind the name
Sakura is the Japanese cherry blossom, and the collection takes its cue from hanami: the centuries-old custom of gathering under the trees to watch them bloom. The blossom lasts only days, and that's precisely the point — it's celebrated because it doesn't last. Japanese poets have described the falling petals as spring snow.
The notes
Cherry blossom and rice milk. Soft florals over crisp green and citrus top notes, with a creamy, milky finish. Sweet without being heavy.
What's in the line
The most extensive of the seven. Foaming shower gel, shower oil, body cream and body scrub, hand wash and hand balm, scented candle and fragrance sticks, hair and body mist, shimmering body spray — even a car air freshener. Most of it comes in refills.
The vibe
Clean, gentle, optimistic. The least demanding scent in the range and the easiest to live with.
Wear it for
Mornings when you want to start over. The Monday of a good week.
The Ritual of Yozakura
The same blossom, after dark
The story behind the name
Yozakura means night cherry blossom — the practice of viewing the trees after sunset, lit by lanterns. Same tradition as Sakura, different hour, entirely different mood.
The notes
Yoshino cherry and black rice. Deeper and sweeter than Sakura, with a vanilla warmth underneath.
What's in the line
The full core range: shower foam and shower oil, body cream, hand wash, candle, hair and body mist.
The vibe
Sakura grown up. Charming but mysterious.
Wear it for
Getting ready before a special night to show the version of yourself, the one that comes out after eight.
The Ritual of Ayurveda
The balancer
The story behind the name
Ayurveda is a system of medicine and wellbeing practised in India for around three thousand years, built on the idea that health comes from balance — between body, mind and the elements. The collection borrows that principle of harmony.
The notes
Indian rose and sweet almond oil. Relaunched in 2026 with a fuller pyramid: plum and green notes on top, a floral-spicy heart of peony and warm spices, and a base of Indian rose, sweet almond and white musk.
What's in the line
One of the biggest ranges: twenty-four products plus three gift sets in S, M and L. Bath, body and home — including shower oil, foaming shower gel, body cream, scented candle and fragrance sticks.
The vibe
Warm, floral, a little spiced. A bold romantic statement.
Wear it for
Cold evenings when all you need is a long bath, for the days you need settling rather than waking up.
The Ritual of Karma
The optimist
The story behind the name
Karma is the principle that what you put into the world comes back to you — a cornerstone of Hindu, Buddhist and Jain thought. Rituals reads it as an invitation to generosity: do good, feel good.
The notes
Lotus flower and white tea. Light, green, faintly floral. The most transparent scent in the range.
What's in the line
The core range plus something none of the others have: sun care. Body scrub, salt scrub, illuminating body oil, hand wash, candle, hair and body mist and SPF products to match.
The vibe
Summer in a bottle. Bright, breezy, uncomplicated.
Wear it for
Holidays, beach days, and any morning you want to smell like you've already had a good one.
The Ritual of Hammam
The reset
The story behind the name
The hammam is the steam bath of Morocco, Turkey and the wider Mediterranean — a place of cleansing, but also a social ritual, and historically one of the few public spaces where women gathered freely.
The notes
Eucalyptus and rosemary, with argan oil and a touch of mint. Cool, herbal, and genuinely spa-like.
What's in the line
Foaming shower gel, the hot body scrub (a Rituals classic), massage body oil with argan, body cream, hand wash and hand balm, candle, reed diffuser.
The vibe
Cold and fresh, ready to wake you up and boost your energy. It doesn't comfort you, it wakes you up.
Wear it for
After a hardworking session at the gym, or after a long, heavy day when a shower needs to do actual work to keep on for the night.
The Ritual of Mehr
The mood lifter
The story behind the name
Mehr is the Persian sun — and the name of one of the oldest deities on record, associated with light, warmth and kindness. The collection is built around that idea: channelling the energy of the sun into your day.
The notes
Sweet orange and cedar wood, with a warm touch of spice. Citrus over something woody and steady, so it lifts without turning sharp.
What's in the line
Foaming shower gel, body mousse, oil-based body scrub with sugar and sweet orange peel, body cream, candle, home perfume spray, fragrance sticks.
The vibe
The first ray of sunshine after a storm, the sunrise of that day you have been waiting for
Wear it for
Grey mornings that need overriding. Deadlines. Anything you're dreading slightly.
The Ritual of Jing
The wind-down
The story behind the name
In traditional Chinese medicine, jing is one of the Three Treasures: the vital essence you're born with, which you spend across a lifetime and are meant to protect. The collection turns that into a nightly invitation to rest.
The notes
Sacred lotus and jujube. Quiet, soft, slightly sweet — designed to lower the volume rather than announce itself.
What's in the line
Foaming shower gel, body cream, candle, fragrance sticks — and even a pillow and sleep mask, the piece the whole collection is built around.
The vibe
The end of the day. The only line in the range designed to make you disconnect of everything.
Wear it for
The last hour before bed. Sundays. An evening home alone for yourself.
And then there's the house
Where the collections stop being something you wear
Rituals doesn't stop at what you put on your skin. At home we use the candles and The Perfume Genie — the gold, app-controlled diffuser you refill with cartridges.
It's worth noticing what that device actually is: a golden lamp that fills your house with Sakura, or Hammam, or Ayurveda. The brand called it Genie. They knew exactly what they were doing: letting you decide what you wish your home smells like.
And they are very good at getting in. I visited the flagship on Carrer de Gràcia, and the customer experience was the best part of it — I left with a scented paper slipped into my bag, unasked. A brand that perfumes your home before you've decided to let it.
