Behind the Mirror
A Tarte Session at the Sephora VIP Room
-
As a Sephora Gold member, I'm regularly invited to enter for a place at the brand's private VIP Room sessions. I won a spot at a Tarte session (part of a Sephora × Tarte × Saisei event) at Sephora Triangle in Barcelona — an intimate, invitation-only afternoon with the full product range and a professional makeup artist.
-
I approached the invitation as a content opportunity, not just an outing. I filmed and edited a short reel capturing the whole experience — the styled product display, a live makeup application, the texture of the space — and cut it into a 30-second piece designed to feel like brand-grade social content.
-
These sessions aren't just about trying products; the brand stages an experience built to be filmed — the ring-light mirror, the flatlay of palettes, the branded matcha, the one-on-one artist. What interested me was reading that choreography and then producing content that works within it: consumer access translated into brand storytelling through my own editorial eye.

Beauty experiences are designed as content engines — the value lies in knowing how to capture them. A single consumer touchpoint can become a portfolio-worthy piece with the right framing and edit. It places me inside the beauty ecosystem I want to work in — not observing it, but already creating for it.
