Technology is still seen as a men's field — the names on the covers are Musk, Bezos, Gates. Anna Cejudo is trying to change that: an entrepreneur who co-founded Founderz, an ed-tech platform that became a worldwide training partner with Microsoft, and who launched AISkills4Women to bring more women into AI. I interviewed her about that work.

I conducted and wrote a profile interview covering Cejudo's career, her company, and her view of gender in the tech and startup world. The piece moves between hard ground — the numbers behind the AI gender gap, the story of the Microsoft partnership — and the personal: what it's like to be doubted, to prove your worth constantly, to be judged as a working mother in a way a father never is.

The interview lets the subject's own framing carry the argument. Cejudo's sharpest lines aren't about technology at all — "when there's a man who is bossy, he is praised, but when a woman does the same, she is a bitch" — and the piece is built to let those land. The craft of an interview is knowing which answers to draw out and which to get out of the way of: my job here was to ask the questions that got her talking, and then to shape her words into a portrait that holds together.

Interviewing well is a specific discipline — preparing enough to go deep, listening enough to follow where the answer leads, and editing so the subject sounds like themselves at their most articulate. This piece also took me outside my usual terrain, into technology, business and gender, and proved to me that the skill travels: a good interview isn't about knowing the field, it's about knowing how to make someone tell you what matters.
